Item #7 on tonight’s city council agenda, which Dave Sewell thinks in retrospect several years from now may be ‘the most significant item on the agenda’ is the addition to the city’s 2018 budget of a $50,000 expense to hire a consultant to help the council transition to a ‘results oriented financial accountability’ system, called “Budgeting for Outcomes”. Isn’t the council already doing that? Do we really need to spend that money on an external consultant?? Is that a wise use of $50,000?
